The new Ukrainian-Swiss project was launched in the organic sector; it aims at providing reliable information about organic market and supporting policy dialogue in the Ukrainian organic sector. In the framework of the project, comprehensive analysis of the Ukrainian organic market in the last three years (2016-2018), including the current year, will be conducted and the study results will be presented both in Ukraine and abroad, in particular, in the framework of the biggest organic fair BioFach, which is annually held in Nuremberg (Germany) in February.
Moreover, the project will promote improvement of market transparency through access to the information about organic production in Ukraine. With this aim, it is planned to improve information portal OrganicInfo.Ua which is an independent information platform and cooperates with all organic stakeholders.
Over the year, some events which have already become traditional in the organic sector as well as a number of publications will be partially supported.
Special focus will be put on cooperation with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, in particular, in terms of elaborating regulatory acts which will regulate organic production, circulation and labelling of organic products.
The project will be implemented until 24.02.2020.
The Project “Organic Market Study and Policy Development Support” is implemented by the Information centre “Green Dossier” in consortium with Organic Standard certification body and with involvement of experts of the Swiss Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL). This project is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
