On 8-9 June 2024 Lviv Taste Fair took place for the second time, with more than 50 producers from all over the country taking part. Small and medium-sized producers of certified organic products, cheesemakers and craft producers presented their best products: cheeses and dairy products, cereals, eggs, oil, fruit and berry rolls, jams, meat products, honey, teas, juices, wines etc.

Several companies presented completely new organic products on the market, namely pasta (TM Terlych) and herbal and berry teas (TM Travka), which are to appear in Ukrainian retail chains shortly.

“It is already becoming a good tradition to hold Lviv Taste Fair every year. This is a very important event that allows Ukrainian organic and dairy producers to present their products to consumers. The companies participating in the fair once again confirm that Ukrainians can be proud of high-quality and safe products. We are grateful to Switzerland and the Swiss-Ukrainian Program “Higher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine” for their continued support of the initiatives aimed at developing the trade potential of small and medium-sized food producers”, said Taras Vysotskyi, Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

During the fair, guests had the opportunity not only to buy organic, dairy and craft products and talk to producers. An interesting gastronomic programme was also developed for them, including masterclasses on tasting Swiss raclette and Tete de Moine cheeses, tasting Ukrainian wine and cheese, creating a cheese plateau, cooking and tasting Yavoriv pie made from organic products, and others. For the youngest visitors, there was a children’s area with animators.

On the first day of the fair, the representatives of the Embassy of Switzerland in Ukraine, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and Lviv Regional Military (State) Administration also had the opportunity to visit an organic enterprise in Lviv region, Organic Garden LLC, which grows blueberries. The enterprise plans to harvest up to 70 tonnes of organic blueberries from 15 hectares in 2024.

“Certified organic producers, like the agricultural business in general, feel the negative impact of the war. Participation in Lviv Taste Fair gives us an opportunity to present our products, communicate with consumers and once again declare that such products are produced in Ukraine in compliance with all the requirements of the EU and Ukrainian organic legislation. We invite everyone to look for the organic Ukrainian leaf, which is the state logo for organic products in Ukraine” says Natalia Cholovska, President of Ecoterra Lviv city non-governmental organisation.

The organisers of the fair are already planning to make Lviv Taste Fair a traditional annual event and continue to support Ukrainian producers and introduce high-quality and tasty products to even more consumers.
