Today, within the framework of online conference “Ukrainian Organic Export: Challenges and Opportunities“, the data on the total volume of Ukrainian organic exports in 2022 were released.
The total export volume amounted to 245,000 tonnes and the value exceeded USD 219 million.
In spite of the full-scale war, blocked ports and other obstacles, exports fell only slightly compared to 2021, with a drop of less than 6%.
In 2022, Ukraine exported organic products to 36 countries, but of course, the blocked sea route affected the geography of exports. The share of exports to the EU increased significantly from 74% in 2021 to 85% in 2022.
In total, in 2022 Ukraine exported more than 208,000 tonnes of organic products to the EU worth about USD 184 million.
The key countries that imported Ukrainian organic products in 2022 were the Netherlands, Germany, and Austria.
Compared to 2021, the range of organic products decreased, with 67 types of organic products exported. At the same time, the top 3 main exported products in terms of export volumes remain unchanged: corn, soybeans, and wheat.
