Organic term in European countries

In European countries, different terms are used for organic production and organic food: organic, biological, ecological.

The use of different terms is associated with national, linguistic and historical features.

In Ukraine, only the term “organic” is used, which is defined by the legislation on Basic Principles and Requirements for Organic Production, Circulation and Labelling of Organic Products.

Products imported to Ukraine with other terms and produced in accordance with the organic legislation of other countries are translated into Ukrainian and marked with the inscription “organic product”.

We offer you a map where you can learn more about the terms for the designation of “organic product” in different European countries.

Organic logos and standards in Europe

Of course, everyone knows that the labeling of organic food in the EU uses a special label – the so-called Euroleaf, which complies with EU legislation in the field of organic production.

However, in addition to the Euroleaf, other labels may be used in the EU, as in other European countries.

We offer you a map of organic logos and standards of Europe.
