Ukraine and EU together celebrate Organic Day
On 23 September 2021, the European Parliament, European Council and European Commission launched the annual EU Organic Day on 23 September. This is a part of the Action Plan for the development of organic production in the EU, adopted by the European Commission on 25 March 2021, aiming to increase the consumption of organic products, expand organic production, improve the sustainability of agriculture and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the EU Strategy “From Farm to Fork” and the EU Biodiversity Strategy.
On September 23, Ukraine will also celebrate the Organic Day together with the European Union, with the aim of European integration, implementation of the European Green Deal in Ukraine, raising awareness about the organic products and promoting the key role of organic agriculture in the transition to sustainable production and consumption in Ukraine.

23.09 and 27.09 – educational tours to organic enterprises
Ecoterra, Lviv NGO organizes educational tours to organic enterprises of Lviv and Volyn Oblast for students and teachers of the Vyshnyansk Vocational College of the Lviv National University of Nature Management.
It is planned to visit 2 farms: Organic Garden, LLC a certified enterprise engaged in berry growing, and Stariy Porytsk, LLC one of the largest certified dairy enterprises in the Western region.
“This is a great opportunity to introduce future agronomists and veterinary medicine specialists to the organic sector, to learn about the peculiarities of animal husbandry, plant breeding, and berry growing in organic production; to see a modern processing facilities for dairy products, and in the future to become not only a supporter of the organic movement, but also a specialist in this field” , – note the organizers.

23.09 – internally displaced persons of Kotsyubynske village will be treated to organic products
Organic Day is an opportunity to draw attention to organic products and promote their consumption. Also on this day we want to support internally displaced persons (IDPs) and especially children.
Three organic producers Bio-Farm Agrotrade (biologic.ua, Kyiv), Danube Agrarian (Odesa region) and Organic Milk (Zhytomyr region) will treat IDP families living in Kotsyubynske (Kyiv Region) with organic products and snacks.
Organic producers have been helping our armed forces, supporting their communities and supporting IDPs in every way since the early days of the large-scale invasion.
The event was organised with initiative and coordination of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
