The biggest international organic trade fair\u00a0BioFach 2018 in Nuremberg (Germany)<\/a>\u00a0took place on February 14-17, 2018\u00a0where visitors and exhibitors had a unique opportunity to establish new contacts, explore new business opportunities and get more acquainted with the rapidly growing organic sector of Ukraine and the whole word.<\/p>\n

In 2018 the\u00a0Ukrainian National Pavilion<\/a>\u00a0celebrated its fifth anniversary at the international organic trade fair Biofach. The pavilion united people who are interested in the development of the organic sector in Ukraine and promoting Ukrainian products at international markets. This year Ukrainian exhibiting companies were situated at a new pavilion 4A on 130 sq.m.<\/p>\n

For four years of successful presentation of national organic sector at BioFach 2014-2017 Ukrainian National Pavilion increasingly sparked general interest with its potential to meet much of the growing global demand for organic products. That proved notable increase of number of exhibitors at the trade fair from 9 in 2014 to 20 in 2018.<\/p>\n

20 companies presented Ukraine at BioFach 2018 and offered a range of organic products, including cereals, oil bearing crops, legumes, groats\/flakes, berries, oils and seeds. This year number of processing companies and producers of oil and berries increased that showed excellent pre-conditions for a further growth of organic production in Ukraine. One of the exhibitors presented its professional services in organic sector \u2013 internationally accredited and recognised\u00a0certification body Organic Standard<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ukrainian Forum “Ukraine open to Organic”, which already became traditional, was organised within the framework of BioFach 2018 where representatives of the business and authorities took part.\u00a0The Forum gathered together over 90 participants from 15 countries, such as Ukraine, Switzerland, Italy, United States, Canada, Argentina, Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Poland, United Kingdom, and Russia.<\/p>\n

Ukraine was presented at a high policy level by Olga Trofimtseva, Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on European Integration. Olga Trofimtseva represented Ukraine at the session of Central and Eastern European countries at the trade fair BioFach 2018.<\/p>\n

For five years the Ukrainian National Pavilion is organized by the Consortium of three Ukrainian key organic stakeholders:\u00a0QueS Organic Consultancy Body<\/a>;\u00a0Organic Standard Certification Body<\/a>;\u00a0Environmental NGO Information Center \u201cGreen Dossier\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Since 2014 the Ukrainian Pavilion has been supported by the\u00a0Swiss-Ukrainian project “Organic Market Development in Ukraine”<\/a>, funded by the\u00a0Swiss State Secretariat of Economic Affairs (SECO)<\/a>\u00a0and implemented by theResearch Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL)<\/a>. And for the last two years the Pavilion has also been co-funded by the\u00a0German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL)<\/a>\u00a0through the German-Ukrainian cooperation project “Advice to Ukraine on agricultural trade issues under the deep and comprehensive Free-Trade Agreement (DCFTA) between the EU and Ukraine”, implemented by\u00a0AFC<\/a>\/IAK<\/a>, and\u00a0Western NIS Enterprise Fund (WNISEF)<\/a>\u00a0funded by the U.S. government via the\u00a0U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2018 the Pavilion was also supported by\u00a0Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)<\/a>, theEuropean Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the EBRD<\/a>), and the\u00a0European Union under the EU4Business Initiative<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ukrainian National Pavilion was also supported by the exhibiting companies and organised with the support of\u00a0the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n
