It made it possible to form the most complete picture to date of domestic organic consumption in Ukraine. Combined with data on the domestic market and exports, the study allows an assessment of the actual size of Ukraine\u2019s organic market, its structure, and its growth potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The study was conducted by Organic Standard certification body (Ukraine) in partnership with OrganicInfo.ua with the support of Switzerland within the framework of the Swiss-Ukrainian Programme \u201cHigher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine\u201d (QFTP) implemented by the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL, Switzerland) in partnership with SAFOSO AG (Switzerland).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although part of the imported organic products is used for processing rather than for final consumption, the collected data make it possible to better understand how much organic food is actually consumed in Ukraine and which product categories generate stable demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In total, 1,830 tonnes of organic products were imported into Ukraine in 2024, with a total value of USD 8.52 million. Thus, imports account for approximately 19% of total organic consumption.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Main categories of imported organic products:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Alcoholic beverages \u2014 562.5 tonnes (USD 2.27 million)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plant-based milk \u2014 346 tonnes (USD 0.40 million)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Baby food \u2014 187.8 tonnes (USD 2.06 million)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Organic products were imported from 34 countries worldwide. The largest suppliers were Belgium, Italy, and Germany, while the largest volumes by country of origin came from Italy, Germany, and Spain. In total, 268 different organic product items were imported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The highest import demand by volume is observed for plant-based milk, still and sparkling wines, non-alcoholic beverages, and baby food\u2014that is, ready-to-consume organic products with high added value.
