{"id":11930,"date":"2022-05-05T13:23:25","date_gmt":"2022-05-05T10:23:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/organicinfo.ua\/news\/grants-for-organic-sector-support\/"},"modified":"2022-06-03T10:33:07","modified_gmt":"2022-06-03T07:33:07","slug":"grants-for-organic-sector-support","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/organicinfo.ua\/en\/news\/grants-for-organic-sector-support\/","title":{"rendered":"Grant Program &#8220;Support of the organic sector in Ukraine&#8221; initiated by the Organic Initiative is started"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The purpose of the Grant Program<\/strong> is to support the organic producers to overcome the current situation and preserve and strengthen the capacity of the organic sector of Ukraine in the mid- and long-term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the beginning of the Russian invasion to Ukraine in February 24<sup>th<\/sup>, Ukraine&#8217;s organic sector, like the entire agricultural and food industries, is being affected. Much of the land used for organic production has been lost in combat or due to occupation. Despite all the difficulties, many organic producers have started the sowing season, provided organic products to the Armed Forces, territorial defence, are providing accommodation and food for the refugees from different parts of Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In the first phase, <\/strong>the Grant Program will be available for micro, small and medium enterprises and &nbsp;small-scale farmers in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Sumy regions which were occupied during the first months of invasion as well as from other regions suffered from active hostilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>I<strong>n the first phase<\/strong><\/strong> t<strong>he Grant Program will support:<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>cost of organic certification;<\/li><li>purchasing organic products from organic producers (with further distribution among internally displaced persons, vulnerable population, etc);<\/li><li>support with access to plant protection products, fertilizers and other inputs permitted in organic production, seeds, and other support related to organic technologies.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Producers are invited to send <strong>their requests (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dossier.org.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Organic-Grant-Fund_request-form-2022.docx\" target=\"_blank\">form of the&nbsp;<\/a><\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dossier.org.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Organic-Grant-Fund_request-form-2022.docx\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>request<\/strong><\/a><strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<\/strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dossier.org.ua\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Organic-Grant-Fund_budget-form-2022.xlsx\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>budget<\/strong><\/a><strong>)&nbsp; for support by May 20*, 2022, at latest to the e-mail <\/strong><a href=\"mailto:info@organicinitiative.org.ua\"><strong>info@organicinitiative.org.ua<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>* The application deadline has been extended!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants will be notified of their support decisions no later than June 1, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The maximum amount<\/strong> of the grant within the 1st phase of the program will be UAH 70,000.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, <strong>the Grant Program is financially supported by <\/strong>Switzerland within the framework of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.organictrade4development.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Organic Trade 4 Development in Eastern Europe (OT4D) Program<\/a> implemented by\u00a0IFOAM &#8211;
