Is Ukraine a trustworthy place to source organic produce? 04.03.2015

Fraud is one of the biggest threats to the organic sector; scandals can seriously undermine consumers’ confidence in organic produce. The latest case of fraud, which involves organic sunflower cake from Ukraine contaminated with the pesticide agents Thiamethoxam and Metalaxyl raises the question of the safety of organic produce from Ukraine and the reliability of the country's organic operators This short document reflects on this issue.

The Ukrainian pavilion at BIOFACH-2015: a high level of interest, international cooperation 16.02.2015

The Ukrainian pavilion at the BioFach-2015 attracted attention of many visitors and participants at this, the world’s largest organic trade exhibition.

This trade fair provided a showcase for Ukraine’s dynamically growing organic sector and the new business opportunities it offers. 
Ukraine’s first experience of having a country pavilion at the BioFach (in 2014) was very successful. This year 9 Ukrainian companies followed this path and brought their organic products and services to showcase at the largest international trade fair. Some of the eфxhibitors, such as Agrofirma Pole, Galeks-Agro, Rivneholod, Casper, and DIAMANT LTD had been inspired by the business results of previous BioFach’s and presented expanded product mixes to their European colleagues and consumers. 

The first workshop "Consultancy services in organic agriculture" 22.01.2015

On January, 29, 2015 in Kyiv the first workshop "Consultancy services in organic agriculture" was held for the potential experts in the organic production field.

The event was organized to provide skilled professionals with training on how to develop consulting services in organic agriculture.

More than 30 workshop participants represented acting bodies in the agricultural sector, fertilizers and plant protection production, research and consulting organizations interested in organic market development in Ukraine.
